2010 Calendar

I'm contemplating making a calendar for my zazzle store. I was thinking maybe using my 12 best or favorites. I need some input as to which ones to use. If you'd like to help me out go to my album and make a comment to let me know what you think would be a good choice.
The last one in the album I can't use so don't vote for that one. I used someone else's reference for that one. I have permission to use it, I just can't make money off of it.

Fruit Still Life

The funnest part of this was doing the crackles. I used a texture of dry mud. Ran over it with a soft chalk in complementary colors.
I don't know how long this took from beginning to end. I was in the zone where you lose all track of time. :) I love that zone, wish I could visit more often. If I had to guess, I'd say maybe 3 hrs.

Ramblings on a wet cloudy day

This is how I feel...
It's rainy, cold and no sunshine. For me, that means aches and pains, extreme exhaustion and walking like a tin man until the end of March. My fingers hurt and that makes it difficult to draw. Not being able to draw is depressing.
I think I need a room filled with happy lites. Ahh yeah, pretend I'm in Florida soaking up the sun.

Do you think if I light the Jack-o-lantern the mold will burn away or will he catch on fire?

It's Pumpkin Time!

It's a vampire pumpkin. Sean wanted a pirate but the design he wanted was too complicated. And we were all exhausted, (up all hrs of the night with Sean) so Peter was able to convince him this was just as good.
Andy took the guts out and had too much fun doing that. lol. Peter did the carving. Seanie watched happily with as much enthusiasm as he could muster. I soaked the pumpkin seeds and plan on roasting them tonight. :) I can't believe what a pitiful amount of seeds it produced. Oh well.
Sean has a Dr. apt. this afternoon. It looks like the little guy has Strep and possibly Tonsillitis. His tonsils are red and covered in puss. He's been such a little trooper. Last night was the first that he showed he was in some real pain. It was awful. All he could do was lay there whimpering.
I can't wait til he's on those antibodies. :)
Update on Sean: Just a really bad viral infection. We'll just have to ride it out.

No shortage of imagination here

Sean is sick today. But it hasn't affected his imagination. Not one bit.
So far today, Sean's wife has morphed into a money bag, surf board and the roof to his house. After some hugging and kissing (which by the way is very cute and hysterical) Sean abruptly yells out, "Hey! Look how high I can throw my wife!"
I think at this point the Tylenol had kicked in.

update: Sean has pretended to be a hot dog. He was snug in the bean bag with a blanket wrapped around himself.
"squirt squirt, now I'm the ketchup and mustard."
Now he's making killer quick sand. Oh dear! He's dropped his wife into the quick sand and is using her as a stepping stone. Now he's mock mourning her because he wasn't fast enough to save her.
"Who wants to melt something?" *sigh* boys. I guess I'm just thankful he hasn't noticed the dead rabbit in the backyard... I can just hear him.. " Let's make rabbit stew!"

Pretending to be an ice cream cone and a merman is exhausting.

New this week

Sean is thrilled to be able to wear this leather jacket from Papa. He's finally big enough. It has an America flag on the back. He pretends he's Captain America. lol.
Peter, Sean and I had our eye exams a few days ago. The Dr. says Sean needs them for reading so he doesn't get frustrated. He should grow out of needing these. Isn't he cute? He loves them.
I was hoping to get contacts but alas it's not to be. I need two pair of glasses. One for far away and one for reading and computer.
